What will you work on?
Reporting to the Accounting Manager, the Senior Accountant, Digital Gameswill be a key member of the Digital Games Finance team during this 18-month contract. This role will play a significant part in our Digital Transformation Project (SAP Upgrade) and will support the monthly, quarterly, and annual end-to-end accounting for our Digital Games Creative Center. It will provide the successful candidate with an opportunity to be part of a growing business, and to demonstrate critical thinking, problem solving, and the ability to succeed in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.
How will you create impact?
- Support the Digital Transformation Project for Finance including:
- Liaising with various stakeholders to understand current state processes
- Leading data gathering and analysis activities to understand root causes and bottlenecks
- Identifying process improvement opportunities and proposing ideas for innovation to improve current process practices and introduce system efficiencies
- Full cycle month end closing duties include but not limited to:
- Full cycle booking of journal entries including revenue recognition, expense drawdowns, accruals, etc.
- Managing capital and intangible assets
- PL variance analysis
- Continuous improvement within the Digital Games accounting and reporting processes
- Be a key contributor to standardizing and formalizing key business/accounting processes within the Digital Games Creative Center
- Support the internal and external quarterly reviews and year end audits
- Assist in the preparation of the statutory reporting
- Provide ad-hoc support for projects and initiatives
What are your skills and experience?
- CPA designation (or working towards CPA designation)
- 4+ years’ experience either from a public accounting firm or public company setting, Digital Games Industry experience is an asset
- Strong accounting and financial reporting expertise (IFRS preferred)
- Demonstrated expertise with SAP is mandatory
- Strong computer literacy skills with Microsoft Office and advanced level Excel skill (pivots, v-lookups, and advanced formulas)
- Excellent interpersonal skills and both, verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively and act with a strong sense of urgency
- Strong self-initiative to operate independently
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong problem-solving skills and motivation to improve processes
