Senior Accountant

Position Overview:

Reporting to the CEO/CFO, we are looking for a self-directed Senior Accountant to oversee all accounting and administrative activities.

The successful candidate will be tasked with overseeing and performing budget management, financial analysis, forecasting, and financial reporting for multiple small-medium sized business units. This is a fantastic opportunity for a professional who thrives in a busy workplace and is well-versed in working closely with senior management. Travel to different offices within the Vaughan area is a requirement for this position.

Duties and Responsibilities:

· Monitor the financial performance of the company.

· Provide direction and leadership to the accounting and administration departments.

· Compile and analyze financial reporting packages.

· Prepare monthly and annual operating budgets.

· Develop and manage financial controls in accordance with the company’s procedures.

· Communicate financial metrics to senior management.

· Provide financial leadership and direction to department Managers.

· Manage the preparation of payroll for personnel.

· Oversee all capital asset and inventory transactions for both Canadian and US Operations.

· Oversee all Corporate Tax filing, HST, CBSA remittances.

· Handle all holding companies accounting and reporting.

· Research, assess and analyze business needs and requirements.

· Train new staff as required.

Required Knowledge and Experience:

· Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline

· Accounting designation (CPA), or in process of obtaining

· 2+ year of Jonas Software experience is preferred

· Experience using Plooto Software is asset

· Experience using IntegraRental is an asset

· Minimum 5 years accounting experience in a senior accounting or financial management role

· Experience in the construction industry an asset

· Strong interpersonal and communication skills

· Strong analytical and organizational skills

· Self-motivated and self-directed

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $70,000.00-$90,000.00 per year
