Senior Accountant or Senior Bookkeeper

We are women-founded, women-run online bookkeeping firm that provides top-notch services to our clients. Our ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, client centric individuals that just want to get the books just right to help our clients optimize their businesses and make crucial decisions. We are also looking for someone that loves the nitty gritty details of bookkeeping but also loves to mentor junior staff.

We have an opening for a Senior Accountant/Senior Bookkeeper who:

• Is a Chartered Professional Accountant or has real world experience, having worked in the bookkeeping trenches for a minimum of 5 -10 years,
• Is comfortable having online meetings with our clients,
• Has previous experience managing and developing staff,
• Has experience reconciling the balance sheet (beyond bank and credit card reconciliations)
• Has payroll processing experience (complex payroll experience is an asset)
• Has previous experience working under time budgets,
• Knows their way around:
• Gmail,
• Google calendar,
• Google drive,
• Slack,
• Payworks, Wagepoint, other payroll softwares (preferred, not required),
• Excel, and
• QuickBooks Online (essential to have at least two years experience).
• Is able to work our core business hours (9am - 3pm) at minimum
• Is able to work remotely.

We’re looking for people who are:

• Knowledgeable - your bookkeeping is mindful, you use critical thinking and have experience to do more complicated bookkeeping tasks.
• Strong Communication Skills - even if you haven’t worked in a professional environment, you have the potential to communicate well with clients and managers/peers. Your communication is organized, friendly and clear
• Organized and Detail-Oriented - You are organized and keep everything as neat as possible, you appreciate our internal systems, policies and controls and are willing to accommodate them and even help improve them
• Self-managing & Reliable - you are able to work by yourself for long periods of time and communicate over messaging and video conferencing programs, you can prioritize responsibilities so that you can stay within our tight client budgets, you can be responsible to meet client deadlines, without fail, and like to get the work done in advance, rather than waiting for the last minute

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Salary: $30.00-$35.00 per hour
