Job description

Position Title: Senior Accounting Administrator

Location: London, Ontario (remote work not available)

Type of Employment: Full-time permanent, office environment

Compensation: Starting at $25.00 - $35.00 per hour with a comprehensive benefits package

Hours:

  • Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (start and end time may be negotiable)

Position Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for daily management of banking transactions, monthly analysis of financial data and distribution of management reporting, monthly management of capital assets and property reconciliations, routine cheque preparation, payment processing, and maintaining an accurate filing system.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with daily bank processing and transactions
  • Work alongside the Controller and the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to assist with:
    • Capital asset management in Asset4000 software
    • Premises lease management in LeaseQuery software
    • Incentive pay management
    • Insurance management
    • Analysis and distribution of financial reports to the management team
    • Compliance reporting to various government agencies
  • Process various inventory and non-inventory supplier invoices from review and reconciliation through to payment processing
  • Regularly contact service partners and suppliers to resolve discrepancies
  • Maintain an organized and consistent filing system, and file documents as needed
  • Maintain strong communication and teamwork with all office staff, suppliers and the management team to ensure efficient business operations
  • Other duties as assigned by the supervisor

Required Skills and Abilities

  • Minimum five years of accounting experience
  • Management skills are a preference
  • Payroll experience is an asset but not required
  • Experience with year-end working paper preparation and working with external auditors is an asset
  • Diploma or certification in accounting or business administration
  • Proficient computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite – Word, Excel, Outlook; data entry; typing; web navigation; research; online database usage; web-based training)
  • Experience in reading legal contracts is an asset (e.g. premises leases, insurance policies, bank agreements, etc.)
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Time management and prioritization skills with a deadline-oriented mindset

Transportation

Canusa Warehouse is not located on a bus route, so individual transportation will be required.
