About the role

We’re looking for a Senior Analyst, Corporate Financial Modelling & Strategic Initiatives to join our team!

The Financial Performance department includes various responsibilities including the group planning process, the analysis of actual results, the forecast of future performance as well as the messaging with external stakeholders. As part of the Group FP&A team, we work on strategic projects that have a meaningful impact for Intact.

Our team works closely with the CFO and specializes in producing strategic analysis helping Intact realizing its financial objectives. As Intact’s roadmap includes growing Net Operating Income Per Share by 10% annually over time and to outperform the industry ROE by at least 500 basis points each year, our team has many opportunities to contribute to the success of the company. We work closely with senior management to identify and execute on opportunities that can define the future of Intact.

We are looking for someone curious and resourceful, with excellent analytical skills and communication abilities to join our team. If you are interested in the fast-paced and dynamic world of Corporate Finance, this role might be for you!

This is a full-time permanent position based in Montreal, Quebec. We operate in a hybrid model, meaning you’ll be in the office a minimum of two days per week and have flexibility to work remotely (if you choose) for the remainder of the week.


What you’ll do here:

  • Develop various Corporate Financial models including the impact of potential acquisitions, strategic investments, profitability levels, as well as corporate structures on our key financial metrics.
  • Coordinate Strategic Initiatives with key internal teams to improve the ROE of the company and present regular updates to the Senior Management.
  • Develop consolidated presentations of operating results including analytic trends on growth and profitability in collaboration with regional teams for the CFO.
  • Support the Capital Management Committee (CMC) for specific analysis on capital structure, valuation and ROE analysis.
  • Work in collaboration with Corporate Development on acquisitions scenarios.
  • Providing a broad range of analytical, research, and presentation for the Senior Management and/or Board of Directors in collaboration with internal departments including M&A, Capital management, Investor relations, Actuarial teams, Legal teams, and Group Finance.
  • Collaborate with rating agencies (Moody’s, Fitch, DBRS, A.M. Best) on various subjects such as our financial objectives, capital structure and quarterly results.


What you bring to the table: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, actuarial science, or any combination of equivalent education and experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in a similar role such as investment banking or financial/analytics. P&C insurance industry experience is preferred.
  • Superior analytical and quantitative skills.
  • Understanding and use of insurance metrics in analysis and financial valuation models.
  • Highly effective written and oral communication abilities.
  • High degree of maturity and professionalism with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Can play a key role as a team member in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.
  • Proficiency in PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Bilingualism (French / English) – Need to interact on a regular basis with an English-speaking clientele and colleagues across the country.
  • No Canadian work experience required however must be eligible to work in Canada.
