What your role will be…

Senior Business Analyst, Collections MIS Analytics

This is an 8-month contract position (with potential for extension)

Contributes to the overall success of the Collections department of Scotia Dealer Advantage by assisting the Analytics Team in ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed and delivered in support of the team's business strategies and objectives. Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.

What you'll be doing…

• Create, review, maintain and distribute necessary reporting required to achieve key performance indicators, service level agreement and operational business controls, and identified compliance/regulatory controls

• Work closely with team members, business partners, and management to clearly understand business and data requirements to provide intuitive and user friendly reporting

• Develop and maintain complex databases to support Department needs, including current reporting and future developments

• Provide trending info/analysis; obtain and review explanations for discrepancies as well as include recommendations.

• Provide support in the implementation or review of new/existing projects, systems, processes, and technology as well as assisting in the delivery and implementation of solutions as required

• Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of their respective areas, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational risk, regulatory compliance risk, AML/ATF risk and conduct risk, including but not limited to responsibilities under the Operational Risk Management Framework, Regulatory Compliance Risk Management Framework, AML/ATF Global Handbook and the Guidelines for Business Conduct

• Perform other related duties as assigned

What you need to succeed…

• Strong problem-solving, collaboration, and communication skills

• Experience with Microsoft Excel, SQL, Power BI, and Report Builder
• Hands-on experience with Python, SAS, SQL Server Management Studio, SQL Server Integration Services, and SQL Server Reporting Services considered an asset
• Results driven individual with high level of curiosity and ability to dive into details without losing sight of the big picture
• Exceptional organization skills to prioritize, manage, and implement a variety of competing initiatives, on a concurrent or staggered basis
• Two years' experience in a collection's operations environment delivering performance reporting is considered an asset
