Do you have a knack for business banking and love connecting with people?

Be our new Senior Business Relationship Manager for our Abbotsford portfolio. You will provide business financial solutions and member service to business, agricultural and organizational members and are accountable for building and retaining relationships through the sale of commercial credit and management of a designated portfolio of clients. You will also develop a visible profile as a member of the business and professional community and utilize this presence to market the products and services of Prospera.

What you'll do:
• Initiates action for growth and development of business portfolio by analyzing member needs, trends, competitor's offerings, recommending revisions to the marketing plan, cross selling all products and services, and pursuing new business by establishing and maintaining liaison with business community contacts (centers of influence)
• Refers members to appropriate Prospera Lines of Business including Consumer Banking, Wealth Management and Leasing divisions.
• Contacts businesses within the Abbotsford area to connect and identify potential opportunities.
• With support from the Business Credit Analyst; identifies and compiles all required information to prepare applications for credit.
• Completes due diligence and investigation; analyzes and interprets financial data and other information; assesses value of collateral security; makes recommendations for new loans, loan renewals and amendments within the guidelines outlined in lending policy and procedures.
• Negotiates loan terms, interest rates and fees relative to risk, needs of the borrower and cost of administration ensuring an appropriate return to the Credit Union by using the Business Banking Pricing Tool.
• Determines and recommends whether to retain, expand or de-market existing relationships based on analysis of credit risk, profit contribution and other considerations and submits recommendation to appropriate level of authority;
• Assists the Regional Director, Business Banking with completion of projects and initiatives.

What you bring:
• Diploma or degree, ideally in Business or Finance
• Minimum of 7 years of progressive business lending experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience in Construction financing (useful).
• Proven negotiation and business development skills
• Previous experience coaching and mentoring team members.
• Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact with a wide variety of people.
• Solid business acumen and organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to exercise judgement in risk assessment, particularly those of a complex nature.
• Proven knowledge of business lending policies, loan documentation and realization and complex procedures.
• Demonstrated understanding of statutory guidelines and regulations governing business lending.
• Advanced understanding of accounting principles, financial statements, and cash flow analysis.

Salary: $91,800 - $112,200 per annum (Actual salary offered will be determined based on education, experience, and internal equity).
