WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

We are seeking a Senior Financial Accountant to join our team on a full-time basis. This position is based out of our Head Office located in Toronto.

WHAT YOU’D BE DOING IN THIS ROLE

• Prepare and ensure compliance with financial reporting for all corporate entities and consolidation
• Perform period-end financial close responsibilities, including journal entry preparation and account reconciliations to support financial reporting
• Accountable for complete and accurate capital expenditure tracking for all entities including tracking to budget and ensuring appropriate accounting all capital spend
• Responsible for complete lease accounting, deferred rent schedule and rent equalization calculations.
• Assist with preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual Financial Statements for 9 + group entities including various levels of reporting and variance analysis (e.g. year over year, vs budget)
• Collaborate with the wider finance team to assist with annual audits of all entities within the company
• Comply and adhere to Internal control definition and enforcement
• Play a key role in the development, maintenance, and management of Financial Systems and assist with Enterprise Resource planning Implementation project
• Identify, recommend, and implement strategies to continuously improve reporting and accounting for financial statement items and reduce risk
• Provide leadership in research and detailed analysis as it relates to possible implementation of new systems and upgrade of existing systems and deliver guidance and organizes workflow among other team members

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED TO GET THE JOB DONE

• Strong systems, network management and data reporting and analytics experience is required. Experience with Microsoft Dynamics considered an asset.
• Resilient problem solver, negotiator, and ability to take ownership and strong leadership skills
• Strategic thinker, with extensive ability to operationalize, leveraging excellence in time management, demonstrate ability to work well under pressure, managing conflicting priorities and tight deadlines in an unstructured environment
• Excellent organization skills and demonstrate accuracy and detail-orientation is a must
• Relevant education in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance or another relevant field OR equivalent work experience is an asset Master of Business Administration, CPA or CMA are a plus
