Senior Financial Analyst

This position will provide a flexible hybrid schedule (not fully remote), with approximatelyone day a week in our corporate office in North Vancouver (may require availability to be on-site more during peak periods).

Key responsibilities of this role are:
  • Responsible for analyzing, forecasting, budgeting and reporting on the financial and business performance of BlueShore Financial and its subsidiaries, supporting the Manager of FP&A by providing recommendations for improved performance
  • In conjunction with the FP&A team, develops the annual strategic plan and the annual budget, aligning BlueShore's financial projections with its strategic goals. Assists department managers with their budget process as required
  • Responsible for the development and maintenance of BlueShore's FP&A software (Vena), training other users as appropriate. Generates analysis and reporting using Vena and Temenos Insight Analytics, training and assisting other users on these platforms as appropriate
  • Prepares and enhances a variety of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and forecasts at the consolidated, subsidiary, line of business, and client segment levels
  • Maintains awareness of developments in the economic environment, assesses the implications to BlueShore, and incorporates into analysis and forecasting as appropriate
  • Assists with strategic IT projects, attending planning meetings, advising on Finance requirements and process improvements and performing testing and implementation
  • Provides guidance and mentorship to junior team members
  • Develops strong working relationships with relevant business units and departments while assisting them in achieving the organization's strategic and financial priorities
  • Responsible for special projects as assigned
  • Provides backup to the Manager, FP&A as required
Qualifications and Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Management Information Systems or related
  • Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation or equivalent
  • 5+ years directly relevant experience
  • Experience with financial institutions an asset
  • Knowledge of financial analysis and modelling
  • Knowledge of banking systems, ERP systems/software, and business intelligence systems an asset
  • Expert Excel skills and solid knowledge of all Microsoft Office programs (Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Outlook, etc.)
  • Understanding of IFRS an asset
  • SQL, PowerBI, PowerQuery, PowerPivot or ability to write database queries and use data visualization tools an asset

The target salary range of this role is $82,000 - $101,000/year. Employment offers are determined by knowledge, experience and internal equity.
