Irving Shipbuilding Inc. is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst.

This is a permanent full-time role based in Halifax Regional Municipality, Nova Scotia. The primary language of work is English. The Senior Financial Analyst supports our government reporting requirements and the greater finance team by ensuring that accurate financial information is consolidated and provided to both internal and external customers. The role focuses on ensuring that our annual municipal, provincial and federal government reporting is completed in a timely and accurate manner with any queries resolved. The role requires a strong attention to detail, teamwork, and the ability to communicate effectively to both internal and external customers.

Qualifications:

• Education: Post-secondary Business degree in Accounting or Finance required with a CPA, CFA, or MBA (or 8 to 10+ years of relevant experience in a similar role)

• Experience:5 to 8+ years of experience within an accounting or financial analytical role

• Advanced Microsoft Skills

• Previous experience with financial audits considered an asset.

• Previous experience with Cognos TM1 considered an asset.

• Previous experience with Government contracts considered an asset.

• Previous experience with payroll considered an asset.

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills

• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and deadlines.

• Ability to work well with multiple teams.

• Strong attention to detail and the ability to read and interpret data.

All successful applicants must meet requirements for Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP), Canadian Government Security clearance, and U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).

Key Responsibilities:

• Preparation of annual Labour rate supporting documents for negotiation with PSPC

• Develop supporting documentation in response to PSPC's queries for rate negotiations.

• Quarterly updates to Labour rate forecasts in TM1

• Period reconciliation of payroll data to the general ledger and update to payroll information in TM1

• Preparation of Annual Qualified Audit (AQA) files and tracking of milestone achievement for FTE reforecast.

• Support of the annual Defence Production Act (DPA) audit

• Period payroll and FTE reporting

• Preparation of annual property tax files for audit and submission to HRM

• Ad hoc financial analysis
