Job Summary
The Senior Manager, Internal Audit is responsible for developing and executing the strategic and risk-based audit plan. The role assesses, reports on, and makes recommendations for improving the Company's key operational and finance activities as well as internal controls. The position is accountable for advising on the adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls, risk management and processes. Furthermore, the incumbent establishes policies for the Internal Audit activity and directs its technical and administrative functions. The position oversees the audit mandates, including leading the audit team through projects defined by the business strategy and stakeholders as well as driven by the business's needs.
Main Responsibilities
·Report to executive management and the Audit, Finance, and Risk Committee on financial, operational, and other process risks and governance issues
·Assist the Chief, Internal Audit to develop the audit plan updates using a risk-based approach
·Lead multi-Internal Audit activities and provide overall strategic leadership in ensuring the best overall quality of all audits
·Perform critical project management duties and provide guidance to the team members to plan audit projects to ensure that an effective and efficient review is performed
·Ensure the availability and effective allocation of qualified Internal Audit resources to meet planned audits and other obligations
·Direct and review the work performed by the audit personnel and resources from external consultants
·Ensure audit documentation standards are being adhered to by the team members
·Prepare final audit reports reflecting the results of the work performed that are timely accurate and concise
·Monitor and ensure the management action plan implementation
·Establish policies for the Internal Audit activity and direct its functions
·Keep abreast of new auditing techniques and technologies
·Manage, train, and develop Internal Audit team members
- Establish and maintain effective executive and senior management relationships
Working Conditions
The role has standard working conditions in a hybrid office environment with a regular workweek from Monday to Friday. Due to the nature of the role, the incumbent must be able to meet tight deadlines, handle pressure, and stress. The position is required to maintain discretion while handling confidential matters.
Requirements
Experience
·Minimum 10 years of Internal Audit or external experience in a medium to large-sized company
oExperience in performing multiple projects
oExperience in Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) programs and reporting*

Education/Certification/Designation
·Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation or a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting*
·Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) or Certified Risk Management Assurance (CRMA)*

·Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) as well as Access, Visio, and Power BI
·Knowledge of the railway industry*
·Fluently bilingual both written and verbal (English, French)*
