Senior Marketing Accountant - Oil & Gas Industry

This pivotal role involves the essential responsibility of reporting the profitability stemming from production and sales activities associated with upstream assets. The role encompasses the meticulous consideration of royalties, transportation, processing, and marketing fees. We are specifically looking for a highly seasoned candidate boasting at least 5 years of relevant accounting experience, with a requisite background in oil and gas marketing.

• Prepare accurate netback calculations to report profitability of production and sales activities of upstream assets, factoring in royalties, transportation, processing, and marketing fees.
• Monitor pipeline movements to track product flow and report financial implications.
• Prepare monthly financial report of marketing activities with detailed analysis of revenue streams and expenses.
• Manage settlement processes, including reconciliation of accounts, dispute resolution with counterparties, and adherence to contractual terms.
• Collaborate with front office and cross-functional teams to gather data for financial reporting and settlement of accounts.
• Maintain internal controls and compliance with financial regulations and company policies

• University degree in Accounting or Finance and CPA designation
• 5 years of relevant accounting experience; oil and gas marketing experience required
• Minimum 2 years of experience handling oil pricing invoices and payment statements for Oil Marketing-related business
• Proficiency in MS Office; experience with SAP and Right Angle is advantageous
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently, managing multiple projects with strict deadlines
• Must be legally eligible to work and reside in Canada
