Adecco is currently on the lookout for a dynamic, full-time Senior Systems Engineer to join our client's team in Ottawa, ON.
As the Senior Systems Engineer, your primary role will be to oversee the Product Platform, managing sub-systems, software, and teams. Responsibilities include coordinating data analysis, setting test requirements, providing technical leadership, and maintaining documentation for released software.
Our preferred candidate holds an undergraduate degree in Systems Engineering, Bio-mechanical Engineering, or a related field, coupled with a minimum of 3-5 years of experience in Systems Design and Management. They should demonstrate a thorough proficiency in Python and web frameworks, such as Bottle.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Manage the Product Platform and architecture consisting of Thermal, Optical, Electrical sub systems, along with embedded software and applications running in a Windows environment
Manage both internal and external software development resources for new applications
Coordinate system data analysis and algorithm development;
Establish and maintain system test requirements for new and on market products;
Maintain a high level of expertise in product performance and manufacturing processes and actively use this to manage risk;
Provide technical leadership to scope, plan and execute development, verification, and implementation of hardware and software product performance improvements;
Mentor and provide feedback on the work of junior staff;
Support quality management system development for those processes surrounding product development and software release;
Maintain and update released product software documents and procedures;
Communicate system architecture and technology strategy to internal and external stakeholders

Qualifications & Skills:
Must be eligible to work and reside within Canada
Undergraduate degree in Systems Engineering, Bio-mechanical Engineering or related degree;
Minimum 3-5 years in Systems Design and Management;
Comprehensive understanding of python and web frameworks such as Bottle;
Familiarity with Bash scripting
Comprehensive knowledge in C# (WPF) and .NET framework;
Proficiency using GitHub/Bitbucket;
Comfortable with developing cross platform integration between operating systems, i.e Windows to Linux;
ISO13485 and GMP Knowledge an asset;
Team-oriented with a strong, self-directed work ethic;
Strong communication and presentation skills;
Proven track record of new product introduction/systems upgrades that involve hardware, software components and cyber security;
