Job Description:
Reporting to the Branch Manager and Director of Parts and Service, the Service Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operations and overall success and profitability of our Grande Prairie Service Department. As a key member of our management team, you’ll help set and implement the vision and goals of the organization while motivating and supporting all members Service department members. You are a dynamic team player with excellent communication and decision-making skills, with experience in leadership and a commitment to exceptional customer service.
Job Description and Responsibilities:
Duties and responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:
- Managing the daily operations of a 6-day/week full-service truck shop.
- Effectively coaching, developing, and mentoring all Service Department team members.
- Supervising Service Writers, Service Technicians and Shop Foremen.
- Following and implementing proper warranty procedures.
- Organizing service work orders so that they are completed timely and efficiently.
- Scheduling staff to maintain a high level of customer satisfaction and company profitability.
- Ensuring that all service work orders meet company policies and procedures upon completion.
- Building and maintaining customer relationships to drive service growth and encourage repeat and referral business.
Employment Qualifications:
- High standard of professionalism and outstanding verbal communication skills.
- Minimum 5-10 years of experience in a leadership position is required.
- Knowledgeable in service, maintenance, and all types of repairs on Class 7 and 8 trucks.
- Proven experience in a full-service truck dealership is an asset.
- Proficient computer skills are necessary, i.e. Microsoft Office Suite.
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment medical and criminal record check prior to hiring.
