We are looking to hire a Service Technician to be a part of our Service team to travel to our customers' homes or businesses to fix any issues.
Service Technician Job Duties:
- Acts on service and service-related tickets as directed by Service Manager
- Interacts with clients through email, phone or in-person to acquire information needed for quality assurance purposes.
- Provide solutions to address client concerns on their windows and doors.
- Travel to site to probe client concerns deeper, and, whenever possible, fix the problem right away.
- Assists the Multi-Family Project team whenever on-site water testing is scheduled by the clients.
- Follow best practice guidelines and act as quality advocate on the site.
- Explain to customers how to use our products.
- Answering telephone inquiries and assisting clients related to issues using our products.
- Assist the service manager in ordering the necessary parts to replace faulty or worn-out parts.
- Documenting issues and providing feedback for improvement through QA’s Non-Conformance Recording (NCR) system
- Escalate service or quality issues/concerns to Service Manager, Engineering/Technical Team and Quality Assurance
- Take pictures on site to support issues and document concerns.
- Keep customer/contractor apprised of timelines including delivery date, next site visit, completion date, etc.
- Establish and maintain relationships with customers by investigating complaints, diagnosing issues and identifying solutions or improvements.
- Keep service vehicles clean, organized and stocked with repair parts such as screws, hinge covers, window accessories etc.
- Maintain tools in good repair; report those needing to be fixed or replaced.
- Any other related task assigned from time to time.
Knowledge & Skills:
- At least 2 years of experience in the window and door trade.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- The ability to diagnose and solve problems based on customers' non-technical descriptions.
- Strong working knowledge of equipment and tools used in the industry.
- Background in Building Envelope system preferred
- Physical fitness to lift heavy equipment, work in confined spaces, and bend frequently.
- Ability to work independently and with a team.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to clearly communicate in English, both verbal and written.
- Ability to travel, as necessary.
- Valid BC Driver’s License and passport.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: $27.00-$34.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
