The INN - Support Worker Job Opportunity
The INN, is an emergency shelter that operates all year round providing accommodations for people who are experiencing homelessness, or are in crisis. The INN is an Operation Sharing program that serves Oxford County residents. Guests of The INN receive food, shelter a safe bed along with the hygiene necessities we all deserve. We are currently looking to add 3 full-time and 2 part-time enthusiastic team members in the Support Worker role. In this position you will be required to work in a fast paced environment reporting to the Shift Supervisor. Some of the duties required are:
· Prepare facility for guests, open doors and welcome Guests.
· Conduct nightly intake and complete necessary forms.
· Assist with food distribution & clean up.
· Extend hospitality (i.e., television/appropriate movie on, games offered, socialize with guests)
· Maintain a calm environment, always referring to The INN policies and procedures.
· Answer phone and give relevant information, or refer to Coordinator if required.
· Prepare breakfast for guests
· Clean-up to meet standards after guests departure.
Details
Hours: Depending on the position, the shifts will include 4pm - 12am, 12am - 8:30am and day shift on weekends.
Rate of Pay: $18.00 - $19.00 hourly to be determined based on experience and qualifications
Pension & Benefits: After 4 months of employment
Qualifications

- Previous experience as a Hospital Porter is an asset
