SUMMARY OF FUNCTION:
The Shipper/Receiver primary objective is to function as part of a team which allows PreciKam to deliver quality products to our customers in a timely manner. As a team member, the Shipper/Receiver is required to be flexible by performing other tasks as needed. It is the responsibility of the Shipper/Receiver to successfully function in a team environment and to communicate any information that may be beneficial to PreciKam.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepares the product onto pallets or shipping methods for shipment to the customers, suppliers, etc.
- Verify quantities of material being shipped to packing slips and ensure that shipping containers are in good condition and securely wrapped suitable for shipping.
- Prepares all shipping documents and labels for delivery to customers or subcontractors.
- Contact transport to arrange pickup and/or deliveries.
- Ensuring all shipments are shipped in a timely manner.
- Promote a safe and clean working environment by following established PreciKam policies and procedures.
- Competent in utilizing and maintaining in-house control systems. Using IQMS, input all computer transactions including receiving stock and pick ordering.
- Manages inventory in such a way that it is correctly labeled, accurately counted and neatly stored in the appropriate area of the facility. Manage the order stock using the “First In First Out” method.
- Ensure cycle counts are accurate for location and quantity and that all errors are investigated and documented.
- Pick all orders promptly and accurately and check the labels on cartons as well as on the pallets. Receive product from the inspection location and move in IQMS accordingly.
- Dispense all raw materials promptly and accurately ensuring all part numbers and lot numbers are recorded.
- Operate the forklift and pallet jacks safely and successfully pass the forklift training program.
- Support inventory systems by training and assisting others. Monitor inventory accuracy and recommends new or revised policies and procedures to improve accuracy.
- Monitor inventory levels for storage space and routinely communicate status of storage situation.
- Monitor the age of inventory items and provide regularly a summary list of dead or slow-moving stock.
- Handling POS’s (proof of shipment) to accounting for invoicing.
- Other tasks as assigned.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
3-5 years of warehouse experience in a similar position.
Knowledge of packaging techniques an asset.
Must be able to work in a computerized environment.
Knowledge of ERP, and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel/Word) an asset.
Able to work with minimal supervision and explanations/instructions.
PHYSICAL EFFORT REQUIRED: Handling of materials up to 25KGS.
Occasionally climb stairs (20) and go out of doors.
Able to use small tools safely.
Place packed materials on pallets ready for shipment.
Forklift competence.
Ability to push a manual pallet mover.
Ability to wrap pallets manually
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $17.00-$21.00 per hour
