The Shipper/Receiver is responsible for the timely shipments of finished goods and for keeping accurate records of inventory. The Shipper/Receiver will have great skill in operating a forklift and possess good organizational skills. This position requires a courteous helpful attitude, the ability to multi-task and operate well in a changing fast pace environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Professionally represents the company as a shipping/receiving point of contact for transport/shipping companies
• Picks and prepares customer orders for shipment
• Loads products into transport trailer and process necessary shipping requirements adhering to Avena’s Foods Safety policy
• Receives and process requisitions from multiple departments (ex. QA – Retest, Production – Milling & Packaging, etc.)
• Processes warehouse transactions using computerized ERP & warehouse management system
• Handles all other duties and problems associated with the warehouse (ex. Cleaning, etc.)

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma is preferred
• 2 years of experience in preferred
• Knowledge of inventory and warehouse management, food processing, packaging and food safety would be an asset
• Minimum 2 years of lift Truck experience/Certification
• Computer literacy
• Excellent organizational skills
• Aptitude with numbers
• Attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to lift 22kg (50lbs)
• Valid Driver’s License and access to personal vehicle are mandatory as position may be required to work at secondary warehouse.
