The Interprofessional Practice and Learning team facilitates and advances person-centered care through evidence-based professional practice and learning strategies and programs that are designed provincially and implemented locally to enhance collaborative learning and practice. The Interprofessional Practice and Learning team takes a leadership role in creating a culture of collaboration with a focus on team-based care, evidence-informed practice, and learning and professional development to improve health outcomes for patients, families and communities. Through strong partnerships with the academic sector, regulators, and government, the Interprofessional Practice and Learning team has an integral role in influencing and operationalizing health system priorities.


About the Opportunity


The Yarmouth CampusDalhousie School of Nursing is a collaborative governance model between Dalhousie University and Nova Scotia Health to provide a source of Nursing graduates in the western area of the province. The Site Administrator (SA) is an employee of NSH, holds an academic appointment in the Faculty of Health, Dalhousie University and has both administrative (60%) and teaching (40%) accountabilities.
Reporting to the Senior Director of Interprofessional Practice and Learning, the Site Administrator is accountable for all administrative and financial matters pertaining to the Yarmouth Campus. The SA is a member of the Interprofessional Practice and Learning leadership Team.
The SA works in partnership with the Director and Associate Directors of the Undergraduate Studies to provide academic leadership to the faculty, staff, and students. The SA is responsible for the successful implementation of the curriculum, creating an environment that fosters scholarship, and supports learning. The SA is a member of the Dalhousie University School of Nursing Executive team and Undergraduate Leadership Team. The incumbent is accountable to implement the Dalhousie School of Nursing Strategic Plan as it pertains to the Yarmouth Campus and ensure alignment with Dalhousie School of Nursing policies as they relate to fulfilling the academic mandate of the school and NSH strategic plan and policies as they relate to administration of the site and the employment relationship.
The role is comprised as follows:

  • Academic Leadership 60%
  • Administrative Leadership 30%
  • Relationship and Communication 10%

About You


We'd love to hear from you if you have the following:


  • Bachelor and Masters degrees in Nursing required
  • Doctoral degree in education, nursing, or other health related discipline required
  • Active practicing Registered Nurse license in good standing with NSCN required
  • Minimum of 7 years’ experience as an educator in an academic environment with evidence of curriculum development and design required
  • Minimum of 3 years of practice in related discipline required
  • A skilled facilitator with emphasis on developing responsive, flexible, innovative education programming and quality improvement initiative
  • Highly developed interpersonal, communication, writing and negotiating skills with the ability to develop and sustain alliances with the academic and health care sectors
  • Demonstrated leadership in nursing
  • Experience in business plan management and resource allocation and budget preparation
  • Skilled in corporate strategic planning abilities, change leadership skills, and project management skills
  • A research portfolio and current program of research
  • Evidence of quality management skills
  • Ability to manage stressful situations, competing demands, & conflict
  • Skills and experience in promoting learning cultures that nurture equity, diversity and inclusivity with a focus on intersectional values, analysis, and actions, clinical humility, and the responsible use of power and privilege.
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

Compensation and Benefits


$49.40 - $65.64 hourly
$96,334 - $127,999 annually
Successful candidates may be eligible for our benefits package which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
