Software Engineer Intern

At Walton Systems, we encourage learning on the job as you will wear many hats to complete the tasks you're assigned. Here is a bit about our three main development projects you will take part in:

Systems & Automations

We design and implement automations with Python. These automations replace manual processes with swift, error-free operations, from data analysis to workflow automation. You will play an integral role in designing automation systems that will be deployed to help real businesses.

Web Development

We build web apps with Next.js and React. We underline the importance of accommodating the consequential growth of the business we are designing them for, think big! We build our own SaaS products in addition to custom-built solutions to fit a business's needs.

Search Engine Optimization (SEO)

What good is a new website if it can't help you attract new customers? Search engine optimization (SEO) is integral to our entire development process. You will apply modern SEO principles to boost organic traffic to websites built with many different frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with a team of developers to facilitate agile scrum development
• Develop, maintain, and test automations using Python
• Use Next.js and React to build optimized, scalable web apps

Required experience

• Significant experience in python
• Entry-level experience in React with any backend

Nice to have

• Business-minded, ability to come up with new ways to serve businesses
• Experience building with the Stripe API
• Experience building with the Clerk authentication platform
• Experience in Machine Learning

Job Type: Internship / Co-op
Contract length: 4 months

Salary: $20.00-$30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
