Job Summary:
Sr. Human Resources Specialist is the focal point of communication for the Human Resources team, with efficiency being the key goal at all times. Sr. Human Resources Specialist must perform a range of duties supporting divisional managers and HR staff. The duties consist of safety, policies, training, labour relations, relocation, diversity, education, regulatory compliance for each provinces in Canada and other HR programs. Provide resolutions and consulting in the above areas to ensure profitable business operations.
Reporting To:
- The Sr. Human Resources Specialist reports to the Manager – Human Resources
Responsibilities:
- Maintain the work structure by updating job requirements and job descriptions for all positions.
- Maintain company headcount by establishing a recruiting, testing, and interviewing program; counseling managers on candidate selection; conducting and analyzing exit interviews; recommending changes.
- Manage Corporate HR Guidelines by preparing, updating, and recommending human resource policies and procedures.
- Communicate to internal stakeholders in Human Resources policies, procedures, laws, standards and regulations.
- Ensure legal compliance by monitoring and implementing applicable human resource federal and provincial requirements; conducting investigations; maintaining records; representing the organization at hearings.
- Provide resolutions to employee relation issues (e.g. employee complaints and harassment allegations).
- Build and sustain beneficial relationships with employment agencies, third party benefit providers, and educational institutions.
- Prepare and present weekly HR update report to senior management, utilizing analytical HR metrics.
- Oversee adequate orientation and training within the organization.
- Mange company compensation structure by scheduling and conducting job evaluations; preparing pay budgets; monitoring and scheduling individual pay actions; recommending, planning, and implementing pay structure revisions.
- Recommend, develop and maintain human resource data bases, computer software systems, and manual filing systems.
- Communicate with headquarters HR to provide various employee/HR-related information.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Requirements:
- Bachelor/College degree in either Human Resources/Business Management/Employment Relations required
- Ideally working towards CHRP (Certified Human Resources Professional) certifications
- Work experience or education in employment law or other area of regulations preferred
- Demonstrated ability to provide beneficial recommendations to solve HR related issues related to regulations, laws and policies
- Ability to speak/write fluently in both English and Korean is an asset.
