Job Description

What is the opportunity:

The role is responsible for the deployment and implementation of Private Banking learning strategies to increase employee capability, engagement and time to proficiency aligned to business goals. Many elements of this mandate are completed in partnership across multiple platforms and Centers of Expertise.

What you will do:
  • Partners with multiple experts in planning, development & enablement of an adaptable and competent workforce within Private Banking through effective end to end Onboarding programs and practices
  • Participates in effective organizational workforce planning in partnership with local Leadership by ensuring the requested roles have access to training solutions/mentoring and ready to perform at the right time to meet business priorities
  • Enables national/regional sales & business plans through alignment of Onboarding Practices, Learning Program Management and other initiatives
  • Acts as lead and SME to contribute to the design, development and implementation of new learning intervention and programs
  • Partners with experts to enable and implement projects & initiatives to drive national sales & business priorities
  • Maintains and analyzes training program and initiative effectiveness to optimize ROI
  • Oversees and maintains a consistent approach and enriched learning experience in the Onboarding, training and transition to the role within given region
  • Champions effective practices and standards for next level practice management routines into learning solutions for all roles, both new and tenured
  • Optimizes capacity through workforce planning by deploying training and mentoring resources aligned to market opportunities and leveraging creative solutions to cross geographies
  • Accountable to collaborate with various partners and senior leaders, support all Learning Programs and other learning interventions to meet the business needs as required
  • Acts as key Learning partner for national office teams
Leadership & Coaching Accountability
  • Supports achievement of individual & collective goals, driving high performance, supporting career development and rewarding strong performance aligned Business Strategy
  • Collaborates with mentors, coaches, leaders and national partners to facilitate successful completion of respective learning plans so that employees feel confident and independent in their role
  • Ensures all participants involved in the training value chain (learner, mentor, coach) are familiar with their roles and accountabilities in ensuring training progresses in line with the learning plans for the respective role and ensure a high level of employee capability and engagement
  • Leverages coaching routines to effectively increase mentee/trainees’ autonomy, engagement, and proficiency throughout the training program to ensure trainee is independent, confident, and ready for role
  • Provides ongoing communication, observation, performance feedback, and coaching to drive a consistent high standard of learning support and performance management to mentors/trainees
  • Drives continuous improvement in training and facilitation skills, management skills, coaching skills, collaboration skills across teams
  • Identifies Simpler, Faster and Better ways to deliver learning content and improve productivity; supports special projects and initiatives within national office partnerships as requested or as opportunities present themselves
Facilitation
  • Supports adult learning principles in all deliveries (encourages participation, problem-solving techniques, discussion leading, effective questioning and conflict resolution)
  • Collaborates and partners with Business Leaders to welcome and orient employees to Private Banking through in person and virtual Orientation sessions.
  • Acts as the center of expertise and key partner with leaders to ensure effective and positive integration of new employees into the business
  • Acts as the national lead for effective learning sessions, escalation point, coach, and liaison for the duration of the program
  • Ensures a positive employee experience and strong adherence to our values and key behaviors (ambassador for the Private Banking business)
  • Creates a safe, enjoyable, and engaging learning environment
  • Creates an easy, positive and effective experience for new employees and takes full responsibilities for the learner’s success
  • Delivers with ease and expertise through a variety of delivery mediums and program mix with impact, regardless of delivery channel and complexity to ensure effective knowledge transfer and capability build
  • Stays current with learning technologies or learning methodologies to ensure high engagement of all participants during course deliveries
  • Provides consultative design & delivery support to RBC Learning, Business Integration & other partners as required
  • Completes touch point after the training by leveraging activities such as coaching or providing feedback on trainee development
  • Commits to employee development – learning plans / action plans to help achieve and meet LOB expectations as stated in the proficiency guidelines

  • 5+ year experience in adult learning and learning technologies expertise
  • Experience in corporate matrixed organizations, preferably within financial services
  • Previous experience providing learning solutions to Personal & Commercial banking channels
  • Bilingual French & English

Job Summary Acts as the senior manager on all aspects of training delivery including learning plan development and maintenance, leadership development, employee development and engagement for Private Banking.
Builds strong relationships with regional leadership, to provide advice and counsel on best in class onboarding and learning practices. Collaborates with business SMEs and learning professionals to provide a high level of training expertise ensuring the ability to identify, evaluate and deliver appropriate training solutions aligned to Business Strategy.
Oversees training programs ensuring there is a consistent, high standard of workplace, formal and informal learning support for new to bank/new to role talent. Ensures mentor resources are appropriately aligned to meet the training and business needs of regions. Proactively identifies trends/areas of opportunity for development of national solutions.
