What is the opportunity?
In this role you will manage a portfolio of the top IT professional services vendors representing ~$500 million in annual spend; and will be responsible for working across senior levels of the organization (both internal and external), to build those relationships, resolve issues and drive value.
You will work closely with RBC leaders, delivery teams, functional partners and suppliers to ensure our relationships are effectively managed, supplier management activities are standardized, risks mitigated and supplier value is realized, tracked, and continuously monitored.
Within the context of an increasingly stringent regulatory and cost containment regime, this role will ensure robust supplier management practices are designed, implemented and standardized, enabling increased supplier value and alignment with T&O’s critical projects.
You will be seen as the primary liaison between RBC and the supplier; you will be the single point of contact for all relationship issues and for the development and execution of standardized governance to ensure effective management of delivery and performance.
What will you do?
Accountable for a portfolio of T&O’s top IT professional services suppliers; and maintaining an enterprise view of suppliers’ relationship with RBC.
Manage and execute all activities as outlined in Supplier Relationship Management Playbook to ensure compliance with RBC policy, best practices and regulatory expectations
Build strategic relationships with suppliers and RBC stakeholders to create opportunities for ongoing communication, collaboration and innovation.
Establish and lead effective supplier governance between suppliers and key RBC stakeholders (including executive relationship owner) at key frequencies; ensuring standardization across the portfolio of suppliers.
Implement a centralized issue tracking log summarizing supplier relationship level issues; and tracking remediation plans.
Develop scorecards to manage supplier health across the portfolio of labour suppliers
Accountable for monitoring ongoing supplier performance ( SLA/delivery management); working directly with suppliers/business partners to address issues and gaps to ensure enhanced performance.
Accountable for effective Supplier governance and oversight, ensuring suppliers adhere to RBC Third Party Risk policy and Regulatory requirements, and that any breaches are reported and remediated in a timely manner.
Responsible for ongoing and relevant communication to the ERO and other key stakeholders as required.
Identify emerging Supplier specific risk and enforce Supplier management activities.
Provide regular status updates including supplier level insights and recommendations to Senior Management to enable better and quicker decision making.
Being recognized as a key supplier management subject matter expert for T&O businesses and executives.
Act as a change agent by consistently challenging gaps, identifying opportunities for improvement and leading remediation with the business where a lack of best practice is identified.
Create ERO briefing decks to facilitate executive level supplier relationship meetings between ERO and Supplier Executives.
Working closely with the T&O SMO Risk Assurance team and the T&O SMO Data Management team to ensure alignment and accuracy of reporting and planning proactive compliance activities to ensure supplier arrangements meet internal and external requirements.
Being able to pivot and prioritize with the evolution of the role and the team and proactively identifying and being a part of opportunities for change and transformation.
Being ready and willing to develop future skills as the role and the team evolves and transforms and new opportunities and requirements are introduced.
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have
5+ years proven Supplier Management and/ or Relationship Management experience
Proven experience working across senior levels of the organization (SVP, VP)
Very strong co-ordination/facilitation experience with large cross functional teams
Exceptional communication skills
Ability to synthesize and analyze information to prepare reports and presentations for all levels of management to enable decision making.
Critical thinking and strategic mindset, ability to act as a change agent.
Nice-to-have
Project Management or Procurement experience
Experience in presenting to senior level executives
Understanding and knowledge of supplier management standards, methodologies, best practices & audit requirements (Third Party Risk)
Working knowledge of technology based suppliers and their associated products or services
