Job description

Bargaining Unit: SEIU Clerical - HRM
Status: Full Time
Department: Nursing Administration
Site: Hogarth Riverview Manor
Shifts: Days/Evenings including weekends
Rate of Pay: $22.55 - $24.24 per hour
Reporting to the Director of Care and under the functional guidance of the Staffing Coordinator, the Staffing Clerk is accountable to provide staffing support to the Managers at Hogarth Riverview Manor (HRM) for staffing functions within the HRM home. Key responsibilities include maintaining the established schedules and ensuring staff coverage on all shifts, vacations, and leaves of absences in accordance with relevant collective agreements.
Qualifications:
Education/Experience:
  • Diploma in office administration or related administrative program

Skills/Abilities:
  • Ability to communicate effectively and concisely, both orally and in writing
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with superiors, co-workers, and program staff, and customers
  • Ability to work in a team as well as independently
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to meet strict deadlines
  • Must be at a basic skill level in word processing and spreadsheet software; must be proficient in data entry with the ability to maintain a high degree of speed and accuracy
  • Must be able to perform the essential duties of the job
  • Ability to use independent judgment and maintain confidentiality of records, actions, and information
  • Ability to attend work on a regular basis

Assets:
  • Experience with StaffRight scheduling software
  • Knowledgeable of SJCG programs and services, including long-term care

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
This position shall be conditional upon a satisfactory Police Vulnerable Sector Check (PVSC) where indicated, to ensure the absence of relevant criminal convictions.
  • Offers of employment made to external candidates are conditional upon providing proof of COVID-19 vaccination as per the SJCG Immunization Policy IMS-04-005 or proof of valid medical exemption, prior to the offered effective date.   • May be required to work occasional evenings and weekends to support a 24 hour a day, 7 day a week operation
