The work of a Store Manager involves driving sales and results by enrolling the commitment and buy-in of our team and clients. As there is a sense of urgency to achieve sales targets and results, this responsibility needs to be shared across the team with effective delegation when necessary. Initiating projects and processes beyond established organization practices will often require training and developing others, and enlisting their support by using a “selling” rather “telling” communication style. The job has variety of tasks and is dynamic and changing.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the daily operations of the store, including sales, customer service, and inventory management.
- Deliver a world-class customer experience every time someone walks into a GBS location.
- Ensure that the store is clean, organized, and well-maintained.
- Open or close the store location and be available to work any shift the retail location is open.
- Learn our products and services at a level where you can teach them to our clients.
- Train, coach and supervise store staff to provide excellent customer service and achieve sales goals.
- Facilitate HR-related tasks involving attendance management & performance management.
- Proactively practice your sales techniques with your teammates. Goal setting and results planning activities with your team.
- Develop and implement strategies to increase sales and market share.
- Use the TELUS online activation system and our POS system to process your transactions.
- Process contracts and other administration work required by the position.
- Monitor and analyze sales data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
- Manage inventory levels and ensure accurate stock counts.
- Handle customer complaints or issues in a professional and timely manner.
- Collaborate with the head office on marketing initiatives and promotions.
- Ability to adapt to the evolving wireless/IT technology that drives our industry.
- Have a passion for working in an exciting and very competitive wireless/IT industry that is changing the ways people work, live and play.
- Attune to ways of community involvement.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a retail management role, preferably as a Store Manager or Assistant Store Manager considered an asset.
-Competent, confident, competitive, assertive & has a desire to be recognized as an individual and as part of a team.
-Computer literacy is essential.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to resolve conflicts and provide solutions.
- Proven track record in sales management, including setting targets and driving results.
- Familiarity with the local market and understanding of customer preferences.
- Strong math skills for cash handling, inventory management, and financial reporting preferred.
- Exceptional time management skills to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Effective communication skills to interact with customers, employees, and corporate stakeholders.
- Experience in team management, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance evaluation considered an asset.
- At least 19 years cold
- Legally able to work within Canada
