Store Manager

The Store Manager is responsible for directing the complete retail sales floor operation of the store while ensuring compliance with all current company policies and HHSL standards. The Store Manager is responsible for maintaining a ‘high profile’ management approach and supporting their team daily to maintain top customer service levels goals, ensuring daily staff productivity requirements are met, and coordinating with other managers to support other areas of the operation as required. The Store Manager analyzes and utilizes sales metrics to drive profitable sales growth and adapt strategies as required, and accomplishes their objectives by personal action and/or delegation of responsibility as appropriate. All tasks are performed with sufficient speed and accuracy to ensure courteous and prompt customer service is maintained at all times.

Retail Sales

  • Develop and maintain sales goals and objectives for your team
  • Ensure sales goals are achieved - meets monthly with the operations director
  • Produce sales reports and conduct routine analysis of data
  • Conduct monthly meetings with sales associates to review individual and department sales performances versus established goals and objectives.
  • Prepare sales associates for sales and promotional activities.
  • Track daily sales to understand movements in sales, margins, and transactions
  • Understand the POS system, and procedures related to purchases.
  • Ensure cash reports and deposits balance daily.
  • Understand store traffic patterns and schedule accordingly.
  • Attend and contribute to monthly management meetings

Customer Service

  • Ensure the highest levels of customer service are maintained to ensure a positive customer experience
  • Maintain a high profile and ‘hands on’ management style
  • Lead a diverse team of Customer Service, Department Sales, and Cashier associates.
  • Conduct daily check-ins to communicate pertinent information, provide daily direction and ensure peak productivity levels.
  • Routinely coordinates with other managers to ensure optimal operational effectiveness and sharing of resources.
  • Analyze customer experience and make or recommend changes or adjustments
  • Support sales and department associates
  • Support staff to facilitate prompt settlement of customer complaints and problems.

HR

  • Recruit and develop a winning team to ensure high customer service levels and that store operates in compliance with HHSL standards
  • Identify, develop and train personnel capable of assuming further responsibilities within the company.
  • Create schedules for staff according to store traffic patterns and wage budgets. Manage schedules for vacations, holidays, sick days.
  • Review weekly time sheets
  • Manage onboarding & training plans, facility orientation, training, HR files etc for new and existing staff.
  • Ensure that all personnel maintain the knowledge and skills necessary to provide good customer service and to maximize sales, with particular attention to add-on sales opportunities.
  • Administrate annual performance reviews
  • Take appropriate disciplinary action when employees violate company rules and/or policies. Maintain complete and accurate records of such actions.
  • Establish and maintain safety training and loss prevention programs.

Operations

  • Direct the complete retail operation of the store while following the guidelines of current company policy.
  • Provide an environment that encourages high employee productivity and morale.
  • Coordinate and communicate with other managers in other areas (Merchandising, Inventory Control etc.) as required to help achieve overall operational goals
  • Implement all policies, procedures, and objectives as determined by the management team

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years of Retail Management experience
  • A strong understanding of retail sales and analytics
  • Proven management track record leading a successful sales or merchandising team
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
  • Ability to lead and work cooperatively in a team atmosphere.
  • Excellent communication skills.
