Job purpose
The role of a Store Manager is crucial in ensuring the efficient and organized operations of a retail or business establishment. This position involves overseeing various administrative tasks, maintaining inventory accuracy, coordinating with different departments, and providing support to the upper management team.
Key responsibilities
1. Administrative duties:
· Manage, type and organize store-related paperwork, including invoices, and receipts.
· Ensure accurate and up-to-date documentation of inventory levels and transactions.
2. Inventory control:
· Oversee stock levels and reorder supplies as needed.
· Conduct regular inventory checks and reconcile any discrepancies.
3. Communication:
· Serve as a liaison between the store, other staff, and upper management.
· Communicate effectively with vendors, suppliers, and other stakeholders.
4. Customer service:
· Assist in creating a positive shopping experience for customers.
· Address customer inquiries and resolve issues promptly.
5. Staff support:
· Train new employees on store procedures and policies.
· Offer support to another employee who stops in for supplies.
6. Visual merchandising:
· Assist in maintaining an organized and visually appealing store layout.
· Implement merchandising strategies to promote product visibility and sales.
7. Order processing:
· Process customer orders, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery.
· Coordinate shipments and track deliveries.
8. Cash handling:
· Oversee cash register operations and ensure accuracy in transactions.
· Prepare daily cash reports and bank deposits.
9. Record keeping:
· Maintain accurate and organized records of sales, expenses, and other relevant data.
· Prepare reports for upper management on store performance.
10. Compliance
· Ensure adherence to company policies, procedures, and safety standards.
· Stay informed about relevant regulations and compliance requirements.
11. Problem solving:
· Identify and address operational issues promptly.
· Collaborate with the upper management to implement solutions for continuous improvement.
12. Team collaboration:
· Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.
· Collaborate with colleagues to achieve store goals and objectives.
Qualifications
· 2 years of experience in general management or sales management
· Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
· Proficient in using basic office software and point-of-sale (pos) systems.
· Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy in inventory management.
· Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
