The Opportunity: The Employment Advisor reports to the Manager of Employment Services and works within the Student Job Centre. The incumbent is the first point of contact for Student Employment inquiries, employer / community postings, workshop requests from faculty, resume and cover letter development. The incumbent maintains a strong connection the Employment Solutions staff to support College students and grads with employment needs.
What you need to be successful:
- Minimum 2-year diploma in business, human studies, human resources or related field
- Minimum two years of experience in a post-secondary environment related to field of employment
- Knowledge or experience of Indigenous culture is considered an asset
- Excellent communication skills required in a variety of delivery methods (in-person, phone, email, etc.)
- Ability to thrive in a busy, multi-tasking environment while serving students
- Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively within a collaborative team environment
- Excellent computer skills (Office 365, various social media platforms)
- Ability to maintain a high level of professionalism and confidentiality
Sault College provides an attractive total compensation package, encompassing competitive wages/salaries, a defined benefit pension plan, group insurance benefits, and a variety of employee perks. This is a full-time support staff vacancy, Payband D – $25.86-$29.96/hour (starting rate $25.86/hour), 35 hours/week.
