Job Title: Student Hunger Program Coordinator
Reports to: Student Hunger Program Manager
Wage: $21.02 per hour ($43,721.60 annually)
Hours Per Week: 40 hours/week
Schedule: Mon-Fri 8AM-4PM with some weekends required
3 Weeks Paid Vacation plus Health & Dental Benefits
Job Summary: To coordinate all aspects of the day-to-day logistics of the Student Hunger Program safely & efficiently.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities (Functions essential to the performance of this job):
- Responsible for compliance with industry food safety standards.
- Assists in the preparation and presentation of lunches, pantry bins, and any other food related preparation that is needed that does not require the expertise of a Chef.
- Responsible for safety in the kitchen environment.
- Responsible for the coordination of volunteers while they are on shift.
- Responsible for ensuring that adequate inventory of food and supplies are available for operations daily.
- Responsible for inventory management and coordinating ordering of food with SHP Manager every week.
- Responsible for the efficient coordination of all food to our school and community partners in a timely manner in partnership with the Transportation Manager & our volunteer drivers.
- Responsible for keeping the data in the software system accurate at all times.
- Responsible for continuous improvement of systems to maximize efficiency and minimize waste.
- Responsible for timely communication of issues to management.
- Responsible for performing deliveries with our vehicle as needed and as time allows.
- Responsible for filling in for Transportation Manager in the summer and as time allows.
- All other duties that may be assigned from time-to-time.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force frequently and to lift 100 pounds occasionally.
- Daily access to a vehicle, a valid driver’s license and a clean driver’s abstract required.
- Ability to grasp, lift, reach, crouch, stand, walk, and carry for long periods of time.
- 1-3 years in management, operations or administrative roles considered an asset.
- Experience in food preparation and a kitchen environment considered an asset.
- Experience in warehouse operations considered an asset.
- Food Safety Certificate required but training can be provided.
- First Aid Certificate required but training can be provided.
- Strong verbal and written communication.
- Strong digital literacy.
- Ability to learn new software quickly.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently.
- Ability to manage, coordinate & motivate small and medium groups of people.
- Ability to work weekends, holidays, mornings, and nights.
- A self-starter, ambitious, with a positive attitude.
- Bilingual considered an asset.
- Experience using Canva, Squarespace, Square, Google Suite of Tools, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel considered an asset.
