Eligibility:Must be legally authorized to work in Canada

Expected Start Date: ASAP

Job Status: Fixed term - Full Time

Hours: 9 AM to 5 PM

Salary: CAD 15-25/hour
JOB SUMMARY:
Primacorp Ventures and Providence University College have formed a strategic partnership (the “Partnership”) which provides an opportunity for international students to enroll in the Associate of Arts in Business Administration program by Providence University College delivered at a designated campus location in Winnipeg, Manitoba.
The position's primary focus is to implement the day-to-day Student Services responsibilities on campus and ensure all elements are delivered according to the Partnership Agreement. This person works closely with various stakeholders including, but not limited to, Providence University College, and recruiting agents to ensure that the operation is executed in a way that meets the needs of the Partnership.
The successful candidate will be a goal-driven, administratively organized, relationship-focused, and skilled information presenter with a proven track record of tangible results in student/customer services.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
The purpose of the Instructor is to lead and contribute to the academic success of students and to the success of the College in achieving its statement of purpose. Under general direction, the Instructor is responsible for providing quality instruction and facilitating student learning according to the prescribed curriculum.

Specifically, the Instructor will be responsible for:
  • Ensures student support services are available as per the agreement and communicates to students from pre-arrival through graduation. These services includes but not limited to the following areas.
    o Student arrival & student orientation o Logistical & student activities
    o Newcomer comer transition and settlement in Canada support
    • Ensure the wellbeing of student life is a priority in an environment that champions anti-racism and Diversity Equity & Inclusion by providing:

    o Orientation and welcome programs;
    o Medical and dental insurance, student safety, health and mental wellbeing;
    o Education and academic progression;
    o Evaluate and monitor the effectiveness of projects and track student progress;
o Provide job placement services

  • Provides prospective students with program information and admissions requirements
  • Follows up with admitted/enrolled students and manages and updates student database system
  • Provide regular program update reports and recommends future recommendations

POSITION REQUIREMENT
To be successful, the Coordinator, Student Services must be committed to developing, maintaining and demonstrating the following:
Education and Experience:
  • A degree in related field.
  • A minimum of one year of experience in a Student Services role.
  • International experience will be an asset
  • Knowledge of Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) regulations will be an asset.
    Skills and Abilities:
  • A high degree of initiative, creativity and adaptability
  • Ability to be responsive to student needs to provide services and transition programs to ensure student success
  • Demonstrated understanding of the concepts of cultural diversity, and intercultural communication knowledge
  • Knowledge of retention initiatives related to international students
  • Demonstrated skill in leadership, management, administration, and planning
  • Knowledge of academic programming available to domestic and international students
  • Strong data analytical skills
