The Bishop Strachan School campus heats up in July, and it’s not just the weather. Summer Academy at BSS is an exceptional way for students to get ahead, catch up or explore something completely different. Summer Academy is open to any students from public and independent schools.
The following courses are in need to teachers:
Grade 9 Exploring Technology (TIJ1O)
Grade 10 Science (SNC2D)
Grade 11 Chemistry (SCH3U)
Grade 11 Co-op (COOP)
Grade 12 Math (MHF4U)
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare lesson plans, outlines and assessments using inquiry and problem-based learning that engages students, challenges them, and meets the subject-specific outcomes and expectations
Ability to differentiate instruction and assessment and evaluation practices that are aligned with Growing Success 2010. m.
Using learning management systems such as Brightspace, Blackboard or with Google Classroom to plan lessons
Integrate technology in the classroom in ways that enhance the student learning experience and deepen knowledge and conceptual understanding in a condensed program
Communicate effectively with parents about all aspects of the overall program and the individual learning of each student
Integrate diversity, equity, inclusiveness and belonging into the classroom learning environment
Skills, Experience and Attributes:
Bachelor of Education required
Must have an Ontario College of Teachers (OCT) certificate
Intermediate and/or Senior Divisions
Strong proficiency in Google Suite; knowledge of Brightspace an asset
A demonstrated passion for innovation and creativity in education
Exceptional interpersonal skills with the proven ability to develop relationships and a caring rapport with students and their families, and with teachers
Commitment and desire to create inclusive and diverse spaces of belonging
Proven strengths in problem-solving and adapting to change
