City Vancouver Academy High School is seeking dynamic and enthusiastic individuals to join our team as Summer Camp Assistants. Under the guidance of the Summer Camp Program Coordinator, the Summer Camp Assistants will play a pivotal role in organizing and overseeing our Summer Camp activities for children and youth.
Summer Camp Assistants will be in charge of planning engaging activities, ensuring the safety and well-being of participants, and fostering positive relationships with campers, parents, and fellow staff members.

Main duties:
- Our Summer Camp is from July 21st to August 4th, 2024
- Engage in comprehensive programme leadership training sessions to enhance your leadership skills and ensure the success of our Summer Camp programmes.
- Lead and facilitate dynamic weekly camp programmes that include a diverse range of activities, games, sports, and crafts, all thoughtfully tailored to the age and theme of the camps.
- Directly supervise participants, maintaining appropriate leader-to-participant ratios to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone involved.
- Prioritize the safety and well-being of participants by diligently maintaining the program space, implementing best practices for safety, and orchestrating well-organized activities.
- Collaborate closely with fellow Summer Camp Leaders to create a cohesive and supportive camp environment.
Requirements:
· Previous experience working with children and youth in childcare, recreational, or instructional settings, demonstrating an understanding of their needs and interests.
· Strong knowledge of age-appropriate activities and out trips for children ages 12-18 years old
· Minimum age requirement of 19 years.
· Completion of a Secondary School program.
· Legal authorization to work in Canada with children and in the vulnerable sector.
· Possession of an emergency First Aid and CPR-C certificate is considered advantageous.
