Job Overview
We are seeking enthusiastic and responsible individuals to join our team running our gymnastics Summer Camps! As a Camp Supervisor, you will play a vital role leading staff in the delivery of quality, fun, and engaging activities for children age 4-12. This is an excellent opportunity for those with experience working with children and a passion for sport or education. Under the direction of the Board, the Summer Camp Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day camp supervision and management of Kenora Aerialettes Gymnastics Club Summer Camps.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and ensure the safety of camp participants and staff at all times
- Plan and lead age-appropriate activities, games, crafts, and outings for campers
- Set-up of activities for the day, including watching, monitoring, and communicating setup/cleaning needs to camp coaches
- Actively engage with campers, fostering a positive and inclusive environment for all
- Provide guidance and support to campers and staff during activities
- Assist with meal times and ensure campers are following proper hygiene practices
- Communicate with parents/guardians, as necessary
- Collaborate with Camp Staff to create a well-rounded program
- Adhere to all Kenora Aerialettes policies and procedures
- Oversee/execute proper maintenance of the facility, ensuring it is always safe and clean
- Ensure a safe counsellor to camper ratio is met, keep paperwork such as incident reports and attendance
- Be a positive and encouraging role model for camp participants
- Keep the KAGC board designate informed in advance of program needs
- Support and oversee camp coaches, ensure they are adhering to program policies and procedures
- Supervise drop off/pick up
- Performs other related duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Age 18 years or older.
- No Gymnastics experience required!
- Ability to engage and connect with children of various ages
- Proficient communication, organizational, and time management skills
- Patience, empathy, and the ability to handle challenging situations
- High level of accountability and responsibility
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Previous experience working with children in a supervisory role is an asset
- Knowledge of early childhood education principles and practices an asset
Education/Certification
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- CPR and First Aid certification, or willing to obtain by start date
- Clean Criminal Record Check with Judicial Matters (Level 2), or Vulnerable Sector Check, within the last 6 months
- NCCP Coaching Levels, particularly in gymnastics, considered an asset
