Job Description
What you can expect in a typical day :
As a summer student with Irving Oil you will have an opportunity to learn in a collaborative environment with one of Canada's Top 100 employers! In this Summer role with our Products and Terminals team, you will be an integral part of the Refinery Risk & Products Trading Team located in Saint John, New Brunswick. You will be tasked with process improvement initiatives, cost recovery analysis and optimization of our supply chain. Focusing on logistics, you will analyze the costs related to moving product and its recovery in the market.
You will be working with the team that r eplenis hes inventory into our network s across North America and will be given the responsibil ity of develop ing a pricing matrix or complet ing a market analysis. This is also an exciting opportunity to gain visibil ity into t he critical r esponsib ilities of the risk management team such as, providing p rotection on inventory as it relat es to changes in the marke t between holding and time of sale.
What you'll need to succeed:
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
- Ability to Data-mine; convert data into information and form a recommendation
- Ability to make decisions and problem solve

- Self-motivated; ability to work independently
- Ability to work within a team environment and meet deadlines
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong attention to detail
Travel
- Travel is not a requirement for this role
Education & Experience :
- Currently enrolled in a post-secondary Business program
- Must have completed at least one year of post-secondary education and be returning to school in the Fall 2023
