Job Overview

Working under minimal supervision, this role supports Wawanesa's objectives by ensuring efficient and accurate broker-billed transactions and related transactions/processes are adhered to for our policy holders. Drive customer service, results, and champion continuous improvement. This role will be required to communicate with both internal and external stakeholders across Canada where the main business language for this role is English.

Job Responsibilities

  • Oversees and coaches a team to ensure the work environment is respectful, challenging and rewarding and employees are maximized to their full potential while contributing to the achievement of Wawanesa's goals
  • Identifies business needs and champions initiatives and is receptive to both employee resistance and acceptance, so that genuine understanding and commitment can occur
  • Conducts and contributes to employee's performance management; ensuring regular feedback is provided on quality of work and overall performance
  • Create and execute action plans to maintain employee engagement
  • Ensures all records, reports, daily and monthly reconciliations requirements are current and accurate, including various team reports to monitor employee performance and service levels required for reporting
  • Oversees the processing of all reconciliations, including organizing team approach on performance thereof
  • Provides responses to complex and escalated receivables inquiries from our brokers and other stakeholders
  • Reviews escalated trouble tickets and activities and provides resolution
  • Monitors progress of system projects and enhancements, communicates and provides direction as required
  • Supervises with audit reviews to ensure compliance with both internal and external standards/guidelines
  • Create and implement standard work processes to achieve and sustain performance efficiency
  • Partner with HR to ensure compliance to Company policies
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 - 7 years of experience in and/or billing related experience along with three years of leadership experience
  • Leadership and team building skills, with the ability to facilitate high team morale by encouraging others to be excited, motivated, and enthusiastic about project activities and outcomes
  • Working knowledge of BluTrack, Guidewire Software, and PeopleSoft
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify relationships, problems, and issues
  • Excellent organization skills with the ability to handle multiple concurrent assignments in a timely manner
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate at the right level of complexity for the audience
  • Ability to hold the team accountable to deliver individual and departmental results
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite products
  • Ability to work as part of a team as well as independently
  • Have a keen interest in learning new technology and process improvement techniques
  • CIP designation or actively pursuing CIP designation or willingness to enroll is an asset
  • Post-secondary degree in Business Administration or related field is a definite asset
  • Experience in the Property & Casualty insurance industry is a definite asset
