PRIMARY PURPOSE OF ROLE:
Manage and lead the Technical Services Department of the company, providing support to other departments and areas as well as to our clients with a collaborative approach and taking the initiative in the improvement of the system. Reports to the General Manager.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Undertakes Rail Infrastructure maintenance, leading a group of engineers and experts in railway matters.
All aspects of railway engineering and project control including maintenance update reports, client and subcontractor management and cost control, in the execution and delivery of Rail Infrastructure maintenance.
Ensure that the maintenance activities are performed according to the standards and maintenance plan, oversight and provide technical support to the Quality Audit and Quality Control department.
Design and develop the maintenance plans and maintenance strategies for all the systems and facilities based on the manufacturers’ information and the maintenance experience with the support of the departmental engineers and experts.
Provide technical support to the Operations and Maintenance team.
Chair the Configuration Control Board with the support of the Change Manager.
Assess and monitor the status of the assets and plan for the life cycle from the technical and financial perspective.
Conduct root cause analysis and FRACAS investigations with the support of the departmental engineers and experts.
Manage and lead the Information Technology Systems, ensuring that meet the necessities of the company with the support of the IT specialist.
Report regularly to the General Manager on day-to-day system performance and provide feedback to management as required.
Where appropriate develop innovative solutions to meet the company needs.
Implement clear and regular communication protocols between all internal and external stakeholders.
Contribute to the overall Business Development targets by fostering good client relationships through consistently high standards of project delivery and client communication.
Maintain up to date technical and marketing knowledge of the target railway environment.
QUALIFICATIONS
A minimum 10-year experience in consulting and/or contracting environments, specialising in rail infrastructure design and/or maintenance engineering.
Civil Engineering degree preferable or other relevant qualification such as Mechanical Engineering, etc. Ideally, a Professional Engineer Ontario.
Relevant experience managing teams and leading a department.
Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team environment.
Intermediate Microsoft office suite
