The Therapeutic Support Worker will provide assistance to vulnerable persons with complex needs, behavioral issues, developmental disabilities, mental health challenges, and/or other related issues. The Therapeutic Support Worker provides supervision, personal care, support, and structure to the students in the learning environment. The Therapeutic Support Worker communicates with group living, clinical, and education staff to create a safe, structured, and comfortable learning environment.
Duties and Responsibilities
Services
* Provide supervision, care, and support to vulnerable persons with complex needs, behavioral issues, developmental disabilities, mental health challenges, and/or other related issues.
* Provide a safe and adaptive environment where participants with exceptionalities can learn meaningful functional life and vocational skills.
* Participate in planning and programming in collaboration with the program manager or teacher.
* Assist in the implementation of individualized education/vocational plans and programming.
* Monitor and guide participants behavior and progress.
* Assist the participants in achieving their education/vocational goals.
* Communicate and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
* Seek out information on community resources of benefit to participants.
* Resolve conflicts and respond to crisis situations in a calm and patient manner.
* Administer medications to participants when required.
* Transport participants as required.
* Document all incidents and updates such as; critical incidents, medication administration, and any other updates. Complete reports and documentation clearly, accurately, and in a timely manner.
* Provide personal care as required.
* Perform other related duties as assigned.
