Tow Truck Driver

About the role

We are seeking a dependable and experienced Tow Truck Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely and efficiently towing and transporting vehicles to designated locations. You will play a crucial role in providing excellent customer service, ensuring the safety of the towed vehicles, and representing our company in a professional manner.

Responsibilities

• Vehicle Towing: Safely and securely tow a variety of vehicles, including cars, trucks, motorcycles, shed’s, golf carts etc. using a flat desk or small duty recker.
• Vehicle Recovery: Perform vehicle recovery services, such as winching and retrieval of vehicles from accident scenes or breakdowns
• Safety Compliance: adhere to all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies to ensure the safety of yourself, the towed vehicle , and other road users.
• Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance and safety checks on the Tow Truck, reporting any issues.
• Documentation: Complete all required paperwork accurately, including towing logs, record hours worked etc.
• Emergency Response: Be available for on-call and emergency response situations, including accidents, breakdowns, and other roadside assistance services.
• Communication: Maintain effective communication with dispatch and other team members to coordinate towing assignments efficiently.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Tow Truck Driver is required
• Valid driver’s license
• Knowledge of towing equipment and proper towing techniques.
• Strong customer services skills with professional and respectful demeanor
• Ability to work independently and make decisions in high-stress situations
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
• Familiarity with local roadways and geography is considered an asset

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift and carry heavy objects (towing equipment, vehicle parts, etc.)
• Stamina to work in various weather conditions
• Physical dexterity to operate towing equipment and tools.

Wage

• $20- $25 per hour (depending on experience)
• Must be available for nights and weekends

Job Type: Part-time

Salary: $20.00-$25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 10 – 15 per week

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift
• Day shift
• Evening shift
• Monday to Friday
• Morning shift
• Night shift
• On call
• Weekends as needed
