About the role
We are seeking a dependable and experienced Tow Truck Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely and efficiently towing and transporting vehicles to designated locations. You will play a crucial role in providing excellent customer service, ensuring the safety of the towed vehicles, and representing our company in a professional manner.
Responsibilities
- Vehicle Towing: Safely and securely tow a variety of vehicles, including cars, trucks, motorcycles, shed’s, golf carts etc. using a flat desk or small duty recker.
- Vehicle Recovery: Perform vehicle recovery services, such as winching and retrieval of vehicles from accident scenes or breakdowns
- Safety Compliance: adhere to all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies to ensure the safety of yourself, the towed vehicle , and other road users.
- Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance and safety checks on the Tow Truck, reporting any issues.
- Documentation: Complete all required paperwork accurately, including towing logs, record hours worked etc.
- Emergency Response: Be available for on-call and emergency response situations, including accidents, breakdowns, and other roadside assistance services.
- Communication: Maintain effective communication with dispatch and other team members to coordinate towing assignments efficiently.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Tow Truck Driver is required
- Valid driver’s license
- Knowledge of towing equipment and proper towing techniques.
- Strong customer services skills with professional and respectful demeanor
- Ability to work independently and make decisions in high-stress situations
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Familiarity with local roadways and geography is considered an asset
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and carry heavy objects (towing equipment, vehicle parts, etc.)
- Stamina to work in various weather conditions
- Physical dexterity to operate towing equipment and tools.
Wage
- $20- $25 per hour (depending on experience)
- Must be available for nights and weekends
