The Position - Vice Principal (part-time, 0.5 FTE) (This position may be connected to other open positions at Cascade to create a full time position).

A successful candidate will:

Have five or more years of teaching experience.

Possess or be in the process of attaining a British Columbia Professional Teaching Certificate.

Possess or be in the process of attaining a Masters degree or post graduate diploma in Educational Leadership (or be willing to begin formal education to support leadership development).

Have demonstrated leadership qualities in instructional pedagogy, educational transformation, and in working collaboratively with others to improve outcomes for students and practice for educators. This team-oriented individual will work collaboratively to promote exemplary practice, a culture that fosters learning, belonging and the engagement of expert learners within the school.

And must:

Demonstrate strengths in interpersonal skills; specifically related to the ability to build excellent relationships and interactions between students, parents and colleagues.

Exemplary knowledge and experience with K-9 learning environments and pedagogy.

Ability and commitment to foster a positive, supportive and effective school culture and climate.

Effective organizational, written and oral communication skills and aptitude toward conflict resolution.

Knowledge and experience in creating classroom and school experiences and structures that support the inclusion and success of all students.

Sound knowledge and of BC curriculum, assessment and the demonstrated ability to lead effective teaching and assessment practices.

Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with staff, parents and community partners.

Ability and willingness to be an integral participant in school initiatives.

Posses strong technology literacy and demonstrated ability in its application for instructional and administrative purposes.

Salary based on part-time hours and the current salary scale at Cascade is between $25,600-$46,735.
