The Solar Lab is a media company that is geared towards empowering everyday people to go solar. It’s centered around a YouTube channel that's carving out a new lane in the solar space, blending education & entertainment.

The Position in a Nutshell

We are on the hunt for a part-time (growing into full time) Video Editor to join our team. This individual will play a critical role in the evolution of our fast growing channel, ensuring our content is both informative and entertaining.

Initially focusing on editing videos for our YouTube channel, the role is designed to evolve, embracing short-form content creation for platforms like TikTok, Instagram and YouTube Shorts.

Your Responsibilities:

• Managing the creative process for all video content, from receiving raw footage to publishing high quality videos
• Appropriately edit, resize, and modulate high quality long, and short form content, in an entertaining and engaging manner
• Experiment with our content and use data to find new ways to engage and grow our audience
• Help to plan and develop video scripts, and shot lists

Qualifications:

• 2+ years of experience with content creation and video editing, for YouTube and social media
• Understanding of all social platforms, including YouTube, Instagram and TikTok &
• Strong project management skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work autonomously and manage competing priorities
• Remote, but has to be able to attend in-person meetings

Experience with Final Cut and Photoshop is considered an asset.

Knowledge or an interest in solar is considered an asset.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Freelance

Salary: $20.00-$40.00 per hour

Expected hours: 10 – 40 per week
