The MS Walk is a community-driven event for people living with or affected by MS as well as those who want to support our vision of creating a world free of MS. Canadians come together in their communities every May to fundraise for and participate in MS Walk to help find the cause and cure for this disease.
As part of the Jayman Built Medicine Hat MS Walk Committee you will plan and execute an inclusive, engaging event to connect and empower the MS community in your region. MS impacts all Canadians, which is why we urge people to move forward together at MS Walk and help build awareness for the disease, raising much needed funds to allow us to continue to support people affected by MS. This is a great opportunity to make an impact in your community using your talent and time.

The volunteer planning committee is seeking leadership volunteers to be a part of the planning for the Jayman Built Medicine Hat MS Walk. There are several areas we are looking for volunteer help:
MS Walk Stewardship
- play a key role in recruiting individuals and teams to take part in the Walk. In this area, you would work with the MS Walk coordinator to ensure that all participants are being stewarded. This will include phone calls as well as emails to local participants.
MS Walk Entertainment
- play an important role in shaping the participant experience on site and on route. This includes organizing entertainment and activities/games and managing the “main stage” and finish line experience to create a positive and memorable event experience for MS Walk participants.
MS Walk Volunteer
- work closely with the team at the MS Canada to ensure we have support from a fantastic group of Day of Event Volunteers. You will have the opportunity to connect with your local community to recruit enough volunteers to fill various volunteer roles and instruct them on event day.
MS Walk Promotions
- help get the word out about your local MS Walk through a variety of local marketing and promotions mediums.
MS Walk Sponsorship
- help steward the participation of local sponsors to enhance the event experience and keep event costs as low as possible.
