The Opportunity
The Ward Clerk performs a variety of reception and clerical duties required for the efficient operation of the unit.  Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: data entry, ordering and maintaining supplies, admitting patients, required transport functions, filing, managing patient health record information, photocopying, faxing, answering phones, and placing calls to staff as required.
Hours of Work
Mon – Fri + Weekends (10.5 hour rotating shifts)
Your Qualifications
• Minimum High School Diploma or G.E.D. required.
• Completion of a recognized business/secretarial program is an asset.
• Previous experience in a similar role preferred.
• Basic knowledge of computer programs, including Microsoft Office and Outlook, is required.
• Knowledge of Meditech is preferred.
• Demonstrated accurate keyboarding and data entry skills required. Testing will be conducted on short-listed candidates and results will be factored into the candidate’s overall suitability for this position.
 •Demonstrated team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills required to work with a wide variety of interdisciplinary team members and families.
• Demonstrated organizational, analytical, time management, interpersonal, and communication skills required.
• Previous experience in a similar role (admitting patients) preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology is an asset.
• Competency in other languages is an asset.
