About the Opportunity
Reporting to the Health Services Manager, the Ward Clerk works in collaboration with all the members of the multidisciplinary team. Duties will include, but are not limited to, ensuring that all required documentation is processed appropriately and accurately, facilitating an effective and efficient flow of written and electronic information as well as supplies, and ensuring the work area is organized. The Ward Clerk coordinates schedules with PAC/APA clinics and works as part of the team to facilitate patient flow through the Day Surgery Unit Service.
The Ward Clerk ensures that the principles and practices that guide our work such as the mission, vision, values, expected behaviors, the leadership philosophy, organizational health, population health, ethics, safety, quality, partnerships and interprofessional collaboration are integrated within the services they provide and through the messages they deliver.
About You
We would love to hear from you if you have the following:
- Grade 12
- Graduate of an approved office administration course
- Successful completion of a course in medical terminology
- Demonstrated proficiency using Microsoft Word , Excel and Email
- Experience working with Meditech systems (OE and EMR ORM preferred)
- Experience in OR Booking procedures and use of Operating Room Management System an asset
- Demonstrated accountability
- Demonstrated judgment and decision-making skills
- Demonstrated commitment to customer service
- Demonstrated communication and conflict resolution skills
- Demonstrated collaboration and teamwork skills
- Commitment to continuous improvement and innovation
- Demonstrated leadership abilities

- Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

Hours
- Casual Relief
- Successful candidate will be cross trained on Day Surgery, Pre-admission Clinic, and the OR
- Monday -Friday, 8-hour shifts, start times will vary
Compensation and Incentives
$22.89 - $24.89 hourly
