About the Opportunity
Reporting to the Nurse Manager of the unit, the Ward Clerk is responsible for all clerical duties assigned in the provision of efficient and effective patient care. Duties will be performed in accordance with the Mission, Vision, Values, Standards, Policies and Procedures of the Nova Scotia Health. The Nova Scotia Health is committed to patient safety, continued quality improvement, and advancing the delivery of safe and trusted health services.
About You
- Grade 12 or equivalent
- Successful completion of a recognized secretarial/office skills program
- Successful completion of Medical Terminology Course
- Expectation to obtain HASP (payroll) training, Meditech & Share training
- Must have a high aptitude towards office organizational skills and the ability to work in a fast paced environment
- Must have excellent communication, interpersonal and public resource skills, as well as the ability to work in harmony as a member of an interprofessional team
- Must be able to use initiative and work with minimal supervision
- Date entry and word processing experience/training in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook required
- Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

Hours
- Permanent Part-time, 20% FTE, 14 hours bi-weekly
- Shifts include days, evening, weekends and holidays.
Compensation and Incentives
$20.09 - $21.91 hourly
