JOB SUMMARY:
The Warehouse Assembly Technician is responsible for all aspects specific to the assembly of individual plunger lift components into completed Plunger Lift assemblies as either general inventory and sale items, or custom equipment orders from clients. As well as preparing equipment for shipping, managing inventory levels, and the upkeep of all work areas.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Receives, interprets and completes all plunger lift assembly orders, which include the assembly order, the as built drawings of the completed product assembly, and a QC specifications page with an itemized parts break down specific to the required properties of each individual order;
- Selects individual components and parts from the general inventory stock and uses these parts and components to complete plunger lift assemblies as directed through the assembly order process;
- Fits and assembles individual plunger lift parts and components into complete assemblies using jigs, fixtures, surface plate, surface table, hand tools and power tools;
- Verifies dimensions, specifications and alignment of assemblies using measuring instruments such as torque wrenches, micrometers, height gauges and gauge blocks;
- Ensure any special orders contain the correct inventory and are assembled according to the QC spec sheet for each special order;
- Ensure all inventory within the Main Warehouse is stored properly and safely;
- Complete and maintain equipment inspection and malfunction reports;
- Communication with other warehouse personnel;
- Warehouse housekeeping;
- Pre-use inspection and safe operation of forklift and overhead crane;
- Backup shipping and receiving duties as required;
- Other duties as required.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Refuse unsafe work and tasks and refuse to operate machinery or equipment they are not trained or authorized to operate;
- Participate in all health and safety meetings;
- hazard assessments and accident investigations as required;
- Follow all safety rules, policies, plans and procedures of Definitive Optimization and our clients;
Physical Demands and Working Conditions:
- Frequent climbing (stairs, ladders, terrain);
- Frequent lifting, pushing and pulling (70 pounds);
- Frequent bending, twisting and standing;
- Exposure to working outdoors in all-weather conditions;
- Ability to work more than 40 hours in any given week;
- Exposure to high noise over 85 dba.
Qualifications:
- 1-3 years experience in a shop environment;
- Valid Drivers License
- Must reside in the immediate area;
- Must be able to pass a drug and alcohol test which includes screening for THC;
- Must be able to pass pre-employment physical fitness test;
- Results from a back ground check must be deemed acceptable in accordance to Definitive Optimization's guidelines;
- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
