Position Summary

The Warehouse Team Lead Iis responsible for achieving the prescribed company objectives for safety, efficiency, quality, inventory accuracy and customer service. Particular emphasis is placed on the guidance of Warehouse Team members and working according to operational action plans specific to receiving, warehousing and shipping product in a manner consistent with company service and cost objectives.

Location: 1535 39th Avenue, Nisku, Alberta

Schedule: Wednesday 3:00pm - 11:pm; Thursday & Friday 1:00pm - 11:00pm and Saturday 10:00am - 10:00pm


What you will do

    • Monitor Employees including performance, conduct, and work quality
    • Ensure On-Time Shipping/Receiving, with valid documentation
    • Assist in inventory management
    • Assist in freight booking and dock planning
    • Oversee safety, security and housekeeping
    • Meet customer service expectations
    • Processing all receipts and orders within contract service level agreements for timing, quality and accuracy.
    • Must be able to lead staff to meet customer demands and company objectives
    • Must be capable of applying effective communication skills orally and in writing.
    • Must have proven analytical and problem solving skills
    • Daily sttus update reports are sent to ensure all departments and management have visibility
    • Work area is kept clean and organized at all times
    • Ensure all team mebers are properly trained (safety policy standards, customer-specific picking & packing prcesses)
    • Utilize the WMS system to print paperwork for inbound / outbound loads
    • Primary contract with all drivers arriving on-site
    • Troubleshoot allocation or other WMS system issues with support from Supervisor or other Team lead
    • Audit performance of team members and review with management, including regular spot checks througout each shift
    • Work with other Team Leads and customer service to understand schedule and volumes
    • Work with management to maintain and understand the plan for each shift
    • Ensure any OS&D forms are completed and given to customer service for any issues encountered
    • Attend various team meetings and provide feedback
    • Ensure appropriate shifts reports are completed

What You’ll Bring

  • 1-2 years of experience as a Lead Hand or Team Lead in a warehouse environment
  • High school diploma
  • Experience with MHE - Counterbalance
  • Experience with RF Scanning equipment within a warehouse environment
  • Knowledge of WMS

Along with the following Skills & Competencies:

  • Reliable self-starter capable of working alone
  • Ability to work under minimal supervision
  • Able to lead staff to meet customer demands and company objectives
  • Knowledge of health and safety legislation
  • Must be computer literate with some knowledge of microsoft work, excel and outlook
