JOB TITLE: Warehouse Worker

REPORTS TO: Warehouse Team Lead, Operations Manager

TYPE OF POSITION: Full Time

HOURS: 40/week

SALARY: $22.00 - $24.00/Hr depending on experience

Job Purpose: The Warehouse Worker attends to the day-to-day activities of the Wood Buffalo Food Bank Warehouse. By providing support for the daily activities of the warehouse, this individual will be able to effectively oversee all aspects of the warehouse and its operation.

Duties and Responsibilities:

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITES:

WAREHOUSE DUTIES

· Keep the warehouse in proper order, neat and tidy.

· Maintain accurate records of donations coming in and going out.

· Answer the phone in a professional and friendly manner.

· Take messages when necessary.

· Respond promptly to emails and redirect relevant ones to the appropriate team member for resolution.

· Sort incoming food donations.

· Keep accurate records of donors and donation amounts when necessary.

· Collect food from Food Bank bins at local grocery stores, schools, etc.

· Support in overseeing and coordinating volunteers as they arrive.

· Support in handling and coordinating volunteer shift postings.

· Building food hampers as needed.

· Keep track of refrigerator/freezer temperature readings and ensure cleanliness, updating the chart as required.

CROSS TRAINING

· All staff members will undergo cross-training in various positions to guarantee a seamless provision of service to clients, volunteers, donors, and other stakeholders.

· Every staff member is accountable for the cleaning, maintenance, and upkeep of the organization.

Other Duties

· Provide support to other positions as required.

· Be willing to attend fundraising events as they arise, as schedules permit.

· Perform any additional duties as directed by the Management Team or Executive Director.

EXPERIENCE:

· Positive attitude is essential.

· Possess strong interpersonal skills and be adept at connecting with others.

· Excellent organization and communication skills.

· Ensure a positive experience for potential partners and stakeholders.

· Food Bank or food security experience is an asset.

· Experience in Volunteer Management is an asset.

QULAIFICATIONS:

· Must have a minimum of high school graduation.

· Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.

· Excellent communication skills.

· Problem solving skills.

· Open to acquiring new skills.

· Be a team player.

· Class 5 drivers license with a clean driver’s abstract.

· Experience driving a cube truck.

Working Conditions:

· Able to work with little/no supervision.

· Comfortable working with those who have Special Needs.

· Hours of work to be flexible based on needs of organization and events.

· Some heavy lifting of grocery items.

· Able to work with challenging individuals.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $22.00-$24.00 per hour
