Job description

Position: Wellness Program Facilitator

Location: Cornerstone to Recovery, Newmarket

Details: Cornerstone to Recovery is seeking a Full-Time, Program Facilitator for our Wellness Centre & program for Afternoon Shifts from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. The Wellness Program Coordinator will manage the daily operations of our Wellness Centre as well as fulfill a variety of roles to support Cornerstone in their day-to-day programming. The Wellness Centre is Canada’s first facility that provides accessible and recovery specific programs and wellness environment for individuals experiencing and impacted by addiction and/or mental illness. We require a highly dedicated and passionate individual who is multifaceted and flexible in their skillsets and professional. The hired individual will work with adult individuals who are experiencing and impacted by substance abuse and mental health challenges to provide a wide variety of supportive services in a community environment. Job Details:

  • 40 hours/week, Monday to Friday - 11am - 7pm
  • Full-time, temporary role with potential transition to full-time employment with benefits
  • Hourly pay including paid vacation

Experience Required:

  • Diploma, Bachelors or Certificate(s) in addictions and mental health counselling, social service work or another related field and/or actively working towards the completion of education is an asset
  • Experience in the fitness / wellness field an asset.
  • Certification and/or relevant training to provide fitness programs such as yoga, circuit training, personal workout plans and more is an asset.
  • Experience and confidence with windows computers, outlook, word, powerpoint and excel is required
  • First Aid and other relevant certifications is an asset.
  • Lived experience with addiction recovery is an asset.
  • Experience working or volunteering in the field of addictions is an asset.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Overseeing and managing the daily operations of the Wellness Centre, including but not limited to:
  • Greeting, touring and supporting existing, potential and new members
  • Managing the RhinoFit, gym management software
  • Handling cash and payments for memberships/or donations
  • Supporting volunteers
  • Completing all monthly program scheduling
  • Train and oversee student placements and volunteers
  • Answer emails and phone inquiries and questions regarding the Wellness Centre
  • Provide regular reporting to management on all Wellness updates and issues as they arise.
  • Supporting members through program referrals, service navigation, supportive counselling and various form of support.
  • In collaboration with the Programs Manager, review potential new programs and/or volunteers for the Wellness Centre
  • Promote the Wellness Centre at Cornerstone as well as in the community through various means such as flyer posting, package drop offs and speaking at community agencies
  • Maintaining all member records and files in accordance with Cornerstone’s confidentiality policy.
  • Ensure the community guidelines are adhered to and maintain a safe and supportive environment
  • Program design & facilitation
  • Facilitate programs as able and within certifications and scope of practice.
  • Engage in program design for new Wellness Programs.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Fundraising event planning & execution:

  • Participate in fundraising event planning and execution as requested.
  • Volunteer at bingo.

*Other related duties and special projects as warranted

Job Types: Full-time, Temporary
Contract length: 3 months

Salary: $18.00-$20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
