ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY..

Regional Recycling Abbotsford is looking to hire a new Metal Buyer/Yard Attendant, who has minimum knowledge of metal/ electronics products and has adequate experience in organizing and cleaning the yard. Training will be provided on Regional Recycling's safe operating procedures. You will be working for a company whose priority is providing a safe environment and quality experience for customers and employees.

Regional Recycling is a local family-run business that would love to have your family become a part of ours. We are a high-volume Recycling Facility carrying out a goal of Zero Waste and have 9 locations that span across the Lower Mainland, Sea to Sky, and Vancouver Island.

Currently, we are looking for:

• 1 Metal Buyer/Yard Attendant (FT; 5 Days/week; 8 hours/day)

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR...

• Physically fit and able to lift up-to 40 lbs repeatedly.
• Knowledge of metal and electronic products.
• Comfortable using android tablets.
• Comfortable operating various equipments. Forklift driving experience is an asset.
• A problem solver, punctual, organized and someone who shows initiative.
• Good customer service skills.
• High commitment to personal safety and the safety of the others.
• Previous work experience in a warehouse is a bonus, but not required.

WHAT YOU WILL GET TO DO…

Reporting directly to managers, Metal Buyer/Yard Attendant will work to perform tasks such as:

• Responsible for purchasing non-ferrous scrap metal with knowledge of specific metal types and current pricing.
• Responsible for shipping of metal/paint/glass/lights/pop-cans/plastics etc.
• Interacting with customers and helping them with their queries. Exploring opportunities for new busienss.
• Sort the electronics appliances. Training will be provided.
• Organize and maintain inventory.
• Stack and wrap the sorted items together.
• General yard clean-up, manual lifting, pushing bins, and sweeping throughout the yard in order to maintain cleanliness of the facility.
• As skills develop further training for additional tasks will be provided.
