Yard Coordinator

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Yard Coordinator is responsible for parking and relocating units to ensure maximum efficiency for the shop, supporting the Shop Foreman with inspections and the Scope of Work (SOW), working with Service Advisors to quickly turn around quotes, interacting with the drivers to determine needs, and helping with repairs as required. The Yard Coordinator also contributes to quality control checks prior to customer pick up, shipping and receiving traffic, and general awareness of traffic flow through the yard.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

• Act as the main point of contact by receiving all incoming units into the yard

• Complete a full walk-around of the unit in alignment with unit check-in procedures

• Park units and relocate into the shop as required by promoting efficiencies through optimal trailer placement location

• Assist with cleaning of equipment and yard maintenance as required

• Ensure Customer units are checked in and out of the yard in a timely and efficient manner and directing truck drivers to assure trailers are located in the correct yard location.

• Assist technicians with required tasks as requested

• Responsible for cycle of units when schedule requires

• Ensure the yard equipment is in good working order and daily inspections are completed

• Maintain a clean and organized yard by keeping it free of debris and ensuring all peripherals are in there place

• Be Safety Conscious as this is considered a high traffic area at times

PERSONAL REQUIREMENTS:

• 1 year experience in a related position

• Valid driver's license with a clean driver's abstract

• AZ license preferred

• Experience operating heavy equipment

• Mechanical aptitude in truck and trailer

• Experience in a heavy equipment shop environment

• Proficient with computers

• Attention to detail

• Excellent customer service and communication skills

• Positive attitude

• Forklift license considered an asset

• Ability to stand for long periods of time and lift heavy objects if required

• Advanced verbal and written communication skills

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Visually capable of recognizing and distinguishing letters and numbers with the ability to remember their sequencing.

• Able to speak clearly and listen attentively.

• Able to work on feet for the entire assigned work shift.

• Capable of lifting and moving parts and boxes up to 70 lbs.

• Able to repeatedly bend and stoop to floor level shelves and able to reach upper shelves (10 ft) with use of stool or ladder when necessary.

• Able to move other heavy items with moving aids designed to move such items.

Licence/Certification:

• Class G Licence (preferred)
